Ada Deaton, 84, passed Friday, January 13, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky, the daughter to the late Green and Marie Burns. She was a devoted wife and dedicated mother and grandmother to her boys.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John J. Deaton of Fort Wayne; sons, Melvin, Ron, Jim (Leslie) and Michael Deaton all of Fort Wayne; brothers, Arcansas, Junior and Dellas Burns all of Fort Wayne; and grandson Jarrod.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Brown and Callie Mae Barrett; brothers, Arthur and Jesse Burns; and daughter in law, Marilyn.

Funeral Service is 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Shawn Browning. Calling is also 5-8 p.m., January 16, 2017 at the funeral home. She will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
