Obituary

Albert Torres, 79, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the lord June 7, 2007 at Hospice Home. Born Sept 28, 1927 in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late Valentin and Florencia Torres and was a U. S. Army Korean war veteran, a member of Korean War Veterans Association chapter #1, a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, a Spanish choir member at the church, and a former member at Saint Paul Catholic Church. He was the former owner of La Favorita Grocery and Restaurant and had retired from Mechanics Laundry. He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Torres of Fort Wayne; sons; Julian Torres of Fort Wayne, Samuel Torres of Fort Wayne, and Carlos Torres of Fremont; daughter, Jenevieve Torres of Cleveland; a sister, Mary Espinosa of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday 10 a.m. with calling one hour prior at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 2213 Brooklyn Ave. Calling also Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Father Timothy Wrozek officiating. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
