Alfred "Joe" Reed, 81, died, Thursday, July 8, 2010, at his home peacefully with his family at his side. The U.S.M.C. Korean Veteran was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He was a security officer for Centurian Security. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Margaret; son, Terry (Carol) Reed of Cromwell, Indiana; daughters, Glenda (Kenny) Johns of Fort Wayne and Shirley (Darren) Toso of Sequim, Washington; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Service is 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling is also 2-4 & 6-8 Sunday. He will be entombed in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Fort Wayne Humane Society.
