Alice Marie (Brooks) Ward, 86, of Fort Wayne passed away August 28. She was born
November 6, 1934 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Paul and Nora (Phelps) Brooks.

Alice married her late husband, Alvis Ward, on November 19, 1954, and together they raised six
children. She worked at Caldwell General for more than 30 years before retiring in 1996. Alice
was a quiet lady who enjoyed spending time at home working with her plants, doing crossword
puzzles, and crocheting. Also liked vacationing in Florida as often as she could. Later in life
she found joy at casinos with friends. Above all, she adored her family. She often planned big
family cookouts, and for Christmas, she went all out and the whole family was expected to be
there to celebrate. Alice was deeply loved and will be missed dearly.

Alice will be fondly remembered by her children, Vickie (Jeff) Goblirsch, Debra Fuson, Sandra
(Steven) Leaming, and Robert Ward; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and two more
on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and late husband, Alvis, Alice was preceded in death by her sons,
Michael Ward, and David Ward; and two sisters.

Family will receive friends from 4:00pm - 8:00pm Thursday, September 2 at Covington Memorial
Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Ft. Wayne, Indiana 46804. Funeral service will be
Friday, September 3 at 12:00pm also at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, visitors may arrive up to one hour prior to service.
