Obituary

Anita Bliwernitz, 92, passed away May 15, 2021. Born in Hardegsen, Germany she was the daughter of Fritz Wemmel and Erna (Altmann) Wemmel.  She married Erhard Bliwernitz. They came to America in 1951 and moved to Berne, Indiana before settling in Fort Wayne. She retired from Lincoln National Life.  She was a fifty year member of the Fort Wayne Sports Club and attended Aboite Lutheran Church. Anita was an avid Gardener. Her flower garden was so beautiful that it was featured in the local newspaper. She was a skilled baker of cakes and enjoyed cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and many dear friends.

She is survived by her son,  Holger (Elisa) Bliwernitz, Montana, daughter, Eve (Phillip) Gulley, California, five grandchildren, Tyson, John, Matthew, Anne and Katherine, two Great-grandchildren, Amaya and Caroline, sister, Ria May, and Niece, Susan Wemmel  Pratt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Erhard Bliwernitz, and brother, Karl  and sister, Lieselotte.

Memorial service is Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Aboite Lutheran Church 10312 Aboite Center Rd. Fort Wayne, IN.  She will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens.
