Annie Mae was born in Uniontown, Alabama to the late Elbert and Hattie Mae Starks. She moved from Alabama to Fort Wayne, in 1945 where she became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was very giving of her time and resources; accepting every opportunity to care for the children and others in need. After raising her own children, she worked outside the home in healthcare. Annie Mae was a spiritual woman and was a faithful member at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
Annie Mae Kinnie went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 12, 2017 while under Hospice care surrounded by her children. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all that knew her.
She is survived by her children, William Kinnie, Jr., Diana Kinnie, Debra Cowans, Jeffery Kinnie, Janet Wallace and Yulondia Kinnie; special son in law Clifton Wallace, Sr.; brother, Elbert (Brenda) Starks, Jr.; sisters, Della Jackson, Hattie Lee (William) Norfleet, Earnestine (Dearil) McGraw, Scottie Waldrup; grandchildren, Brandon Kinnie, D''Angelo (Molly) Dunbar, Bryson "BJ" Dunbar, Clifton Wallace II, Cortney (April) Wallace, Reggie (Michelle) Dunning, Patrice Kinnie, Phillip Walker, Keith (Rolonda) Suttle, Are''Tina Johnson, Omar (Bonnie) Belcher, Tennylle Kelso, Deidra (Cameron) Pirtle, Niccol Bryant; several grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William Kinnie; brother, Herman Starks; sisters, Savannah (Porter) Jordan, Bernice (Paul) Dupree, and Thelma (Fred) Williams.
