Anthony (Tony) W. Ahrens, 78, died Sunday at his home surrounded by his family. He worked 20 years for Container Corporation, and 27 years for Ft. Wayne Community Schools, and 27 years at the Memorial Coliseum and Cub Master for 3005 and Franke Park Schools. Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Ahrens, Ft. Wayne, sons, Leslie (Tammy) Ahrens, Hereford, AZ, Jeffery and Brian Ahrens, both of Ft. Wayne, grandchildren, Cameron Chambers, U.S. Marine Corps, James Ahrens,U.S. Navy, and his mom Okyo Kim Ahrens, Phoenix, AZ, Kim Ahrens and her mom, Cozetta Ahrens, Columbia City, sister-in-law, Fern Squires, Ft. Wayne, brothers-in-law, John Cromie, Quincy, IL, Gerrold Johnson, Huntertown, IN, close family friend, Jan Machlan, Ft. Wayne. Preceded in death by cousin, George and Lucille Flaugh and friend, Karl Krudop. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Ch. 1636 St. Marys Ave. There will also be calling 2-4 6-8 Wednesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. and 30 minutes prior to service.
