Ashlye Colleen Smith, born December 2, 1992, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on April 21, 2026. She was a woman of immense warmth and strength, recognized by all who knew her as a heart of gold, deeply loving, caring, and protective,
Her family was her world. Ashlye’s bond with her mother was second to no one, they were best friends. She delighted in sleepovers and slumber parties especially at her Aunt Rita’s, creating memories filled with laughter and comfort. A loyal friend to Aunt Lynnette, as they were Twilight watch buddies. Ashlye’s greatest desire was to become a mother herself, an aspiration she held close to her heart.
She shared a remarkable and inspiring marriage with her husband Ryan, and together they built a life enriched by love and family. Ashlye was the loving mother to their three children, whom she adored above all else. Her immediate family also included her mother, Angela Costanza and her husband Rob, her brother Alexander Meredith and his wife Riley, as well as her sister and little best friend Tori Waggoner. She was also blessed with the presence of grandparents Douglas and Colleen Rosebrock, and the extended support and affection of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeremy Meredith and grandfather, Lon DeLong.
Ashlye’s personality shone through in her unique blend of sass and bossiness, tempered by a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She had a distinct love for early 2000’s hip hop and pop music that energized her spirit. Many fondly remember her for her enthusiasm for shopping outings, and the joy she found in getting her nails done alongside her closest friends. A lover of the color pink, dolphins, and her four beloved cats, Ashlye’s interests reflected a vibrant and lively individual who embraced life fully.
Ashlye especially treasured trips to Tennessee with Ryan, the location he chose to propose to her. Despite her many interests and adventures, family remained at the very core of her world and identity.
