Audrey (Gebhart) McCoy, 92, of Fort Wayne died on Wednesday February 11, 2009 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. Audrey was born May 26, 1916 in Ft. Wayne, graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1934, and received her RN degree at St. Joseph School of Nursing 1937. She worked at Irene Byron Hospital after graduation and later became Head Surgical Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, where she retired after 30 years of service. Audrey married Victor McCoy in January 1939. Victor preceded her death on December 30, 1994. Surviving are her daughter Sandy (Dean) Anderson of Friendswood, Texas, son Jim (Judi) McCoy of Fort Wayne, six Grandchildren, 13 Great Grand-children and sisters Mildred Kohne of Fort Wayne and Adine Ralston of Tennessee. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road with calling one hour prior Memorial contributions may be given to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago.
