Barbara Joan McCalister, 82, passed Sunday, June 16, 2019.  Born in Terre Haute, she was a daughter to the late Clifford Barnhart and Opal (Cunningham) Barnhart.  She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School and played clarinet in the band.  She met and married the love of her life, William "Bill" McCalister, on November 21, 1958.  They moved to Fort Wayne and raised their children here.  The family often went camping in the Smokey Mountains, back packing, hiking in Colorado.

Barb and Bill canoed the boundary waters.  They loved to travel; traveling to Hawaii, Mexico and the Holy Land.

Barb was co owner of W.K.M. & Associates with her husband.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and for over 30 years was active in the Bible Study Fellowship.  Barb was an avid reader.

Barb is survived by her husband of over 60 years, William "Bill" Kyle McCalister; son, Cliff (Joy) McCalister of Bailey, Colorado; daughter, Kyla (Tom) Pesenecker of Fort Wayne; sister, Donna Barnhart of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Molly (John) Stark, Cailey (Phillip) Theissen, Kyle (Alicia) Pesenecker and Jack McCalister; and great grandchildren, Zylen, Amielia and Xavier.

Barb was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael.

Funeral Service  10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Harris.  Calling is also 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials are to the church or Bible Study Fellowship.
