Barbara Sue Merrill, 79, entered into Heaven Thursday, March 31, 2016. She was born June 18, 1936 in Staffordsville, KY to the late Dewey and Bertha (Fairchild) Selvage. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara has been a member of the Waynedale Baptist Church. She was an active gardener, cook and canner and she enjoyed sewing before her health declined. Barbara was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Surviving is survived by her husband of 49 years Richard (Dick) Merrill, sister-in-law Joan Manchant, children, Eric (Lynn) Merrill, Tammy (Kevin) Sanders, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who adored her. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, Dennis Wasson and Michael Merrill and a grandson Brandon Hanks and 12 siblings.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday April 6, 2016 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to, Crohns and Colitis CCFA Research or National Breast Cancer Association.
