Barbara Warwick Wiesenberg, 81, a native of Sherman, Connecticut, died at Canterbury Nursing Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana on June 19, 2011 with her family at her side. She graduated from the Grace-New Haven School of Nursing in New Haven, Connecticut in 1951 as a Registered Nurse and worked in Connecticut, California, North Carolina and Indiana. She retired from Parkview Hospital in 1995. She was very knowledgeable about antiques and an avid collector with memberships in the Curios Antique Club of Fort Wayne, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and the Wallace Nutting Collectors Club. In 1981 she was Chairperson for the Woman''s Program at the International Electrical/Electronics Insulation Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Donald Eugene Wiesenberg; two sons, Mark (Jan) of Fort Wayne and Matthew (Denise) of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Sarah (Thomas) Nitza of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Samuel, Lucas, Garrett and Allison; and brother, Joseph (Marjorie) Warwick an artist in Reno, Nevada.
Memorial Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. There will be a luncheon at the church after the service. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens in St. Paul Mausoleum at 2 p.m. on July 2, 2011. Memorials are to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Parkview Foundation.
