IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beatrice "Bobbie"
Terry
January 19, 1940 – January 25, 2026
Beatrice Ann Gulley came into this world on January 19th, 1940., the youngest of four daughters born to Robert and Jeannie (Mausness) Gulley. Her father wanted a boy, but he did the next best thing – called her Bobbie.
She grew up in a small house on Reynolds St. in Fort Wayne, Indiana, walking to school, playing with the crazy neighbor kids, and occasionally watching her mother butcher a chicken in the backyard for dinner.
In 1957, while waitressing at Azar's, she met a young man from Nebraska. By June of 1958 she married that man from Nebraska named Darrell Terry. They made a home in New Haven, Indiana, where they started raising their family. Robert (Bob) came along first and a few years later their family was complete when William (Bill) came along. Darrell's job moved the family north, and they called Elkhart, Indiana home for the next 30+ years. The family attended Trinity Lutheran where Bobbie taught Sunday School and Bobbie raised her two boys to love God by the example of how much she loved them.
Bobbie was a good friend and neighbor and loved her adopted hometown. She would crochet blankets for babies, make the single best Christmas cookies every year, and always showed her love by doing for others. Thankfully, her children and grandchildren were the greatest beneficiaries. Bobbie's spunk and humor never ceased, and although she was quiet, she could land a good zinger that was always to the delight of her sons.
Bobbie and Darrel returned to Fort Wayne from Goshen, Indiana in 2001, and Bobbie quickly turned their new home into her own. Bobbie always had plenty of plants indoors and out due to her greenest of green thumb. The love did not stop with family and friends but was also given to her 9 dogs over the years. Her dog Heidi was the last loyal pup.
Bobbie lived a full life in the 86 years given, and her spirit and love lives on by the ones who survive. Beatrice "Bobbie" Ann Gulley Terry was a great daughter, a great sister, and a great wife. Where she shined was as a mother and grandmother. Simply the best. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Darrell; son, William (Anne) Terry; daughter-in-law, Colleen Terry; grandchildren, April (Ernie), Andrew (Tiffanie), Christian, Evan, and William; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Vince, and Merritt; and sister, Patricia Habegger.
She was preceded in death by son, Robert Terry; and sisters, Dixie McKinley, and Elizabeth Koble.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Street, Huntertown, Indiana 46748. The funeral will begin at 11:00 am with lunch to follow. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
