Betsy Lynn (Lambert) McSorley, 64, of Fort Wayne, passed away March 16 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 22, 1958 in Fort Wayne to the late Jack and Inus Jean Lambert.

Betsy graduated from Elmhurst High School in 1976. Soon after high school, Betsy finished cosmetology school where she earned her cosmetology license. She married the love of her life, Rick McSorley on July 1, 1980, and together they raised three children. Betsy stayed at home with her children while they were young. When Betsy was not working she loved spending time with family, gardening, bird watching, swimming, reading and was quite the artist. She loved going to the ocean. Besty's greatest joy in life was doing for others, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. When Betsy retired from being a medical transcriptionist, she loved to spend more time with her family, including many vacations with all of her children and grandchildren. She lived a faith-filled life full of compassion, love and was a kind and selfless individual. Betsy was a loving wife, mother and mamaw and will be missed greatly by all those who knew her.

Betsy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, and fought long and hard but never gave up. As a woman of faith and courage, she never, even once, questioned why me.

Betsy will be forever remembered by her husband, Rick; children, Landin (Lisa) McSorley, Ash (Sarah) McSorley, and Brittany (Jaren) Ritchie; grandchildren, Jaiden, Elliott, Hudson, Hazel, Jack, Jasmine, and Taven; sister, Sharon Miles; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in passing by her brother, Manning Stewart; and grandson, Luke McSorley

Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 22 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN  46804.  Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, March 23, also at Covington Memorial.
