Obituary

Betty J. Goodson, 89, died on March 2, 2013 at Countryside Meadows in Avon, Indiana. Born in Veedersburg, Indian, she was the only child to the late, John and LaVada (Cox) Goodson.

Her entire professional life was related to the field of nursing. She received her RN from Indianapolis City Hospital now know as Wishard Memorial Hospital and later received her BSN from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She served as an Army Nurse during WWII. She worked at several hospitals in Cleveland and taught Medical Nursing at St. Lake''s Hospital in Cleveland along with two other nurses, Carmel Miller and Frances Yoder. They then established "The Lamps" a facility that was devoted to rehabilitation in Brook Park, Ohio.

She also loved wood carving and painting and was a long time member of The Country Carvers in Steuben County.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Per Bettys request there will be no services. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
