Obituary

Betty Jean (Grandstaff) Cook, age 71, went to be with her Lord on May 5, 2015 after a strong and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Betty was born in Wabash, Indiana, on May 13, 1943 to the late Edwin and Ruth Grandstaff. She was the only girl of 6 children. On November 24, 1963, she married George Cook, and they were happily married for over 51 years. Betty enjoyed spending time with her church family at Woodburn Missionary and bowling. Her real passion was her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother who would do anything for them and worried more about them than herself through her battle with cancer.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Grandstaff. She is survived by her husband, George, her daughters Kristine (Stuart) Collins and Becky Richhart, son, Ryan (Sondra) Cook, 9 grandchildren: Anna, Emma, Cassie, James, Chelsea, Dawson, Jonah, Rachel, Ethan and brothers Francis "Frank" (Lucy), Larry, John, and Steve (Susie) all Grandstaff.

Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday May 8, 2015 at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Rd. Woodburn, IN 46797 with calling one hour prior to service. There is also a viewing Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Woodburn Missionary Church Chapel Fund or Parkview Hospice.
