Betty L. Hartman, 90, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 6,2025. She was born on October 16, 1934 in Knox, Indiana.
Betty was a self-made woman who was always on a journey. Whether traveling through the pages of a book, through the notes of a song, or with her beloved husband, she was forever learning and growing. Betty enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, canning, homemaking, tennis, dancing, long walks, and winter activities like sledding and ice skating.
She had been a member of Wildwood Racquet Club, the Ft. Wayne Museum of Art, and Christ Our Savior Church in Panama City Beach, Florida.
After graduating from Arcola H.S. in 1952, Betty went on to work for Lincoln Life Insurance. After raising her family, Betty was employed by Teters Floral.
Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and nana. She cherished her family above everything and loved Jesus with all of her heart.
Betty is survived by the love of her life and husband of 72 years, Norbert R. Hartman; daughters, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Lewis, and Stephanie (James Beltowski) Hartman; grandchildren, Patrick Hartman, Amanda (Cory) Arms, Zachary (Josie) Rumple, Joshua ( Ashley) Rumple, Matthew (Jessica) Drudy, Emily ( Jared) Martin, Benjamin ( Kaycee) Drudy, Natalie Drudy, and Elizabeth (Luke) Riffell; along with 15 treasured great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Glenn R. Hartman.
A funeral service to honor Betty's life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Ft. Wayne, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew 25 Clinic.
Betty will forever live in the hearts of her family and will be greatly missed.
