Betty E. Kast, 92, passed away June 13, 2018.  She was born July 21, 1925 in Bluffton, to the late Rosil and Nellie (Stahl) Valentine.  Betty retired from Harris Kayot after 30 years of service.  She was a member of Aboite Lutheran Church, elected "Business Women of the Year in 1987 as a member of the American Business Women Assoc.

Betty is survived by her step-children, Darinda A. (Robert) Shroyer, Jacque L. (Bruce) Rowley, Rick A. (Joey) Dommer, Vicki L. Steele; brother, Gene Valentine; sister, Marie Clark; 11 grandchildren;  6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Kast in 2013; son, Steven J. Esterline; 3 sisters, Ione Getty, Leone Schafer, and Crystal Burgette.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd. with calling from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Officiating will be Pastor Joshua Pagan.  She will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice.
