Betty Jean Kelly, 64, passed Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at home with her children by her side. Born in Fort Wayne she was a daughter to the late, Arthur D. Connett and Mary M. (Cook) Connett. Betty Jean graduated from Snider High School. After graduation Betty had worked for Fort Wayne Community Schools; as a bus driver, in food services as well as a custodian and then retired from IPFW. Betty was an active and devoted member of the Lifehouse United Methodist Church aka, Forest Park United Methodist Church; she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group.
Betty is survived by children, Janine (Michael, Jr.) Jackson of Virginia Beach and Michael (Christina) Kelly of Virginia Beach, and twin daughters, Margo Jean Kelly Fort Wayne and Mary (Jarod) Brown of Auburn; the children's father, Timothy F. Kelly of Yoder; and siblings, Susan Houser of Florida, Laurie Burke of Fort Wayne, Bob Connett of Fort Wayne, Chuck Connett of Elkhart and Rick Connett of Marion; six grandchildren, Matthew Jackson, David Jackson, Josiah Kelly, Malachi Kelly, Hannah Brown and Rebekah Brown.
Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Craig.
Funeral Service is 1 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Officiating will be Pastor Seth Lochmueller. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the ALS Association.
