Betty J. Keltner, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. She was born in South Bend on February 15, 1920; she was the daughter of the late Byron C. and Elizabeth (Windle) Kirby. She worked at Indiana Michigan Electric Company before World War II; while there she met her future husband, Warren. She then dedicated herself to being a wonderful homemaker and raising their children.
She is survived by her son, Alan (Jackie) Keltner of Shorewood, Wisconsin; daughters, Sandra (Dennis) Deuter of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Carolyn (Gordon) Lewis of Rensselaer; brother, Richard (Adele) Kirby of Bellevue, Washington; 5 grandchildren, Brian, Kevin, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Greg; and 4 sweet great grandchildren, Christopher, Alyssa, Zachary and Mia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Warren O. Keltner, in 1988; and an infant brother.
Service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Alzheimer''s Association or American Diabetes Association.
