Betty Jane (Pearson) Rice, 83, of Fort Wayne passed away January 30.  She was born June 15, 1938 in Fort Wayne to the late Raymond and Grace (Hamilton) Pearson.

Betty married her husband, Marston E. Rice, Sr., on August 12, 1966 and were together for nearly 39 years before his passing in 2005.  Betty was a homemaker and raised 2 children.  In her spare time she enjoyed fishing and, especially, playing BINGO.  She was a wonderful cook and always made the holidays special with her Christmas box of goodies.  Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She will be greatly missed.

Betty will be forever remembered by her children, Marston (Wendy Boger) Rice, and Tory Rice; grandchildren, Michael (Melissa Cox) Rice, Cameron Boger, and Zachery Boger; great grandchildren, Westlynn Rice and Piper Rice; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in passing by her brothers, Sonny Pearson and Raymond Pearson.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, February 8 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with service to follow at 1:00pm.
