Betty Twist, 84 of Ft. Wayne, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, April 10, 2009. Born in 1924 to Lorena and Fred Speckman, Betty was married to Maxwell Twist who preceded her in death in 1986. She was dearly loved by and a mother to Allan Stauffer and Richard and Ramona Staley. "We will miss you, Dear Betty, more than you will ever know." Betty retired from Essex Wire in 1989 and served as a volunteer at Lutheran Homes and Wellspring Food Bank. She also served on the Alter Guild of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Ft. Wayne. Betty was an active member of the Johnny Appleseed Chapter of ABWA. "A dear soul has passed from this life. Betty will be missed by everyone who knew her." Funeral service will be 2:00p.m. Tuesday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd with calling one hour prior. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
