Bill C. Jones, 90, passed Monday, April 10, 2017. He was born May 18, 1926 in Dixon, Ohio to the late Paul and Susan Jones. Bill proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He retired in 1984 after 42 years of service with the United States Post Office. He attended Ossian United Methodist Church. Bill was Past Commander of American Legion Post #47 and a long time member of the Fort Wayne Summit City Lodge 170 and Mizpah Shrine. Bill was a 1944 graduate of South Side High School.


He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Doris; sons, Gary (Diane) and Greg (Angie) Jones; daughters, Diane Swan and Carol Durkes; brother, Carl; 9 grandchildren; Judy (Michael), Steven (Becca), Eric, Becky, Adam, Alexa, Andrew, Justin, Nikki and 3 great grandchildren; Brantley, Calvin, Gunnar, step children; Marsha Allen, Linda (Glen) Motley, Rick (Monica) Donaghy and Tom (ReAnn) Donaghy, 11 step-grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Shearer.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 3-7 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Summit City Lodge 170 will provide a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the Ossian United Methodist Church or Shriner''s Hospital for Children.
