Obituary

Bill L. Shaleen, 52, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday morning, April 25, 2012 after a heroic and courageous encounter with cancer. His perseverance inspired all who crossed his path. Always a kid at heart, he lived life to the fullest and took great pleasure spending time with family and friends. He loved kites, gardening, cooking, Disney World, Springsteen, Buffet, Sinatra and Neil Young. He was a talented artist and wood carver that brought joy to many with his elaborate Halloween decorations and creative sand sculptures. He graduated from Snider high school then worked and managed the Bombay Bicycle Club in the 80''s. For the past 23 years he worked for Aalco Distributing Co. as a beer sales rep; never meeting a stranger.
Beloved husband, dad, "grampa", son, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor we love and miss you dearly.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 28 years, Cindie; children, Carly Shaleen, Jessica (Wade) Oliver, Aaron Zimmerman and Monica Duvalon ; father, Loren Shaleen; sisters, Kay (Kevin) McClurg, Mary (Eric) Hansen and Theresa "Tweet" Shaleen ; two sweet grandchildren, Lyla Oliver and Elijah Duvalon; and one on the way; as well as cherished nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother Delores "Pinkie" Shaleen.
Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Tuesday May 1, 2012 at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
