Brother Roy Thomas Holland, 80, peacefully passed Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in to his Lords arms.  Born in Valdosta, Georgia he was a son to the late Robert Thomas Holland, Sr. and Missouri Hiburnia (Smith) Holland.  Roy proudly served his country in the Navy and was a Reserve Officer for the Allen County Sherriff Department.  Roy retired from Allen Business Machine.  Brother Roy was a devoted member of the Bible Baptist Church and he would deliver the Lords word at local churches.

Brother Roy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Naomi (Mowery) Holland; children, Kenneth (Dalena) Holland of South Carolina and Carol Ann (Jim Green) Foreman of Fort Wayne; brothers, Sylvester, Carl, Timothy Holland, Doris Davis; half sister Mary Wilson; 8 grandchildren, Heather (Austin Phillips) Foreman, Tiffani (Bret Johnson) Foreman, Amanda (Paul Boykin) Foreman, Ryne Foreman, Emma (Arnie) Coffey, Janelle Smith, Kendra Van Oosterhout and Justin (Ria) Holland; and 7 great grandchildren, Zandria, Lei'Lani, Kal, Lila, William, Kristle, Lanai.

Brother Roy was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, Felton, Otis Holland; half brothers, Tom Holland, Leonard Holland, Leroy June; half sisters, Ella Lou Barrow and Margret Moore.

Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2019 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior.  Officiating will be Pastor Ed Groover.  Calling is also 2-6 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.  Preferred memorials are to the Bible Baptist Church.
