Caine Thomas Barrera, 8, was granted his angel wings Tuesday, June 16, 2015. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 9, 2007.

Although Caine''s condition made him appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his courage he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories.

His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.

With Caine''s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him, every day, especially his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Caine is survived by his parents, Maria Holsinger Barrera and Tomas (Shari) Barrera; brother, Tucker Galentine; sisters, Ava Barrera and Madison Baker; maternal grandparents, Ann Holsinger and Brent and Lisa Holsinger; paternal grandparents, Nina and Thomas Barrera; aunt, Molly Holsinger and Brandee Barrera; uncle, Clinton Holsinger; and many other extended family members who loved Caine dearly.

Caine leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Caine with love and dignity in his life.

Funeral Service is Noon, Saturday, June 20, 2015, Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 3-5 & 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2015. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to the family, please make checks payable to Molly Holsinger.
