Calvin Eugene Garvin, 88, passed peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2018 at home.  Born in Shelby, Ohio, he was a son to the late Melvin P. Garvin and Edith M. (Wenger) Garvin.  Calvin was a Navy veteran during the Korean War and a member of American Legion Post 296.  He retired after 41 years of service from Perfection Biscuit Corp., as a bakery worker.

He is survived by wife of 64 years, Barbara A. Garvin; son, Kent (Deborah) Garvin; daughter, Donna Kremke; brother, Frank Garvin; sister, June Hook; 7 grandchildren, Nicole, Jessica, Emily, Tracy, Erin, Nathan and Mark; and great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Isabelle, Samantha, Christian, David, Jillian, Beau, Skyler and Mason.

He was preceded in death by sister, Janice Brooks; and son-in-law, Chuck Kremke.

Funeral Service is 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior.  Officiating will be Pastor Christina Ryan Perkins.  He will be laid to rest with military honors at Covington Memorial Gardens.
