Carl E. Hatcher, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday Nov 27, 2007 at Hospice Home. Born Dec. 2, 1924 in Kenton, Ohio, he was a US Army veteran and member of American Legion Post 82. He was a railroad engineer for Conrail where he had worked for 42 years. He is survived by sons, Edward (Sandra) Hatcher of Haviland, Ohio, and Thomas (Patricia) Hatcher of New Haven; daughters, Beverly (Duane) Boyle of Fort Wayne, and Rebecca (Gary) Haire of Port Charlotte, Florida; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. Hatcher; three brothers, and five sisters. Funeral service Friday 1 p.m. with calling two hours prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
