Carol J. Sandel, 73, passed away Saturday August 24, 2013 at her home. She was born May 20, 1940 in English, IN to the late Colonel and Nellie (Smith) Sarles. Carol worked at several industries over the years, ITT Aerospace 10 years, International Harvester 7 years, Bowmar 4 years, and she retired from Kraft Foods 3 years. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Bobbette (John) Chavez, Anderson, IN, Ruthie (Wesley) Yoder, Ft. Wayne, IN, Nellie (Timothy) Charles Sr., Ft. Wayne, IN, sisters, Patricia (Paul) Simmerman, Cherie Sandel, Eva Jo (Mark) Cooke, Mary Sarles, Diane Drennon, 7 grandchildren, James III, Robert, Amber, Zach, Timothy Jr., Jacob, Austin, 5 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Bella, Sienna, Jayden and Timothy III. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Howard R. Sandel, May 19, 2008.

Service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday August 29, 2013 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There is also calling Wednesday August 28, 2013 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
