Carol J. Shank, 84, passed away on August 18, 2024, surrounded by family singing the old hymns. She was born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1940, a daughter of the late Edgar and Gertrude Rahn.

Carol worked as a Registered Nurse.

Carol met her husband Philip in 1965, while they were both working at the Grenfell Mission in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada.

They spent their early married life in New York and Massachusetts, and then moved to Adrian, Michigan.  They lived there for the next twenty-three years where they raised their sons Roger and Daniel.

In 1992, Carol and Phil moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana.  New neighbors and friends followed, as well as a transfer to Emmanuel Community Church.  Carol was a prayer warrior, supporter of missions and an encourager to many.  Spare time in her later years was often filled with reading, knitting, and watching birds.

She is survived by her sister Barbara Rahn, sons, Roger (Melinda) Shank and Daniel Shank; granddaughters, Olivia (Mike) Grimm-Shank, Emme (John) Hockema, Sophie and Claire.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip Shank.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at The Branch, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Dr., Fort Wayne, Ind., 46814 with calling from 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. Online streaming of the memorial service will be available at https://boxcast.tv/view/shank-memorial-service-oisqehmym6bnsaxwqldd
