Carole R. (Banet) Ocken, 76, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 29, 1941 to the late J. Richard and Rose V. (Kintz) Banet.  Carole is a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke and a member of the Rosary Sodality.  Carole was an Executive Assistant at the Neighborhood Health Clinic.

On May 19, 1962 she married John "Jack" Ocken, who survives; along with their son, John "Jay" (Lyn) Ocken; daughter, Amy O. (Andy) Ellet; grandchildren, A.J., Jacob, Jarrett, Justine, Jacklyn, Jhett, Jackson; brother, John R. (Pam) Banet; sisters, Connie (Dick) Miller, Pam (Lawrence) Bak, Deb (Dan) Fosnaugh; and brother-in-law, Mike Brouwer.


Carole was preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica L Hoover; infant brother, Joseph Banet; and sister, Ina Brouwer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday September 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St. Roanoke, IN 46783 with viewing 1 hour prior to mass.  Calling is also 3-7 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2018 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Roanoke.  In lieu of flowers preferred memorials are to Masses or Neighborhood Health Clinic or Visiting Nurse and Hospice.  www.covingtonmemorial.com
