Carole Jolyne Streit, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Visiting Nurse. Born in Huntington, she was the daughter of the late Harry James and Dorothy Lucille (Sheets) Pfeifer. She was a wonderful homemaker for her family and a Volunteer at Lutheran Hospital for over 30 years. She was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James "Jim" Streit of Fort Wayne; sons, Jim (Delphine) of Fort Wayne and Tim (Jurga) of Coto De Caza, California; daughter, Cynthia (Terry Hummer) Hiss of Fort Wayne; sisters, Phyllis Teagarden of Fort Wayne and Judith Carpenter of Davisburg, Michigan; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew, Jennifer, Jeremy, Andrius and Daniel; and 2 great granddaughters, Emma and Madison.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Wiles.

Funeral service is Noon, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling two hours prior. Rev. Bill Mueller officiating. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse.
