Carolyn L. Hein, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at Oak Pointe in Columbia City. She was born to Melvin and Patricia (Bakle) Cox.

Carolyn enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time at home watching old Western movies and her favorite soap operas with her beloved calico cat, Callie, by her side. When she ventured out, she enjoyed attending a good party or trying her luck at the casino. Carolyn was a no-nonsense woman who always spoke her mind, yet she had a generous and caring heart. She cherished her friends and family and loved spoiling those she held dear.

Carolyn dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Caring for people was more than a profession to her—it was a passion that reflected her compassionate spirit.

She is survived by her two children; her two grandchildren, Auston (fiancée Jade Carlson) Griffetts and Bentlee Darling; and her brother, Steve (Jeanne) Cox. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Patricia Cox, and her brother, Donald Cox.

In keeping with Carolyn's wishes, cremation will take place, and she will be inurned at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne.
