Carolyn Sue Herstad passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born in Terre Haute on January 9, 1935, she was the daughter of the late George and Evelyn Roeback. She married Kedric "Ked"  Herstad, sharing 70 years together before his passing in 2023.

Sue enjoyed many activities including cooking, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, camping, and painting. She was a woman of deep faith who loved Jesus. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Kim (Terri) Herstad and Kent (Mindi) Herstad, along with 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Ked, a son Kevin Herstad, and three brothers, Larry, George, and Raymond Roeback.

Visitation will be held at Covington Memorial Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.

Memorial donations in honor of Sue may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Sue's life was a blessing to those who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
