Caryn Faye (Raney) Best, 71, passed away on January 20, 2025. She was born in Linton, IN on November 14, 1953, a daughter of the late Norval "Red" Raney and Elnora Louise Miller Raney.

She owned and operated her own Mortgage company, Best Home Mortgage until her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, golfing and more than anything she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who called her Mawmaw. She was an active member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. Later in life she had Euchre Club where friends and neighbors would come together at her home.

She is survived by children, Adam (Vicki) Gaunt, Brian (Kelly) Gaunt; grandchildren, Katelynn Gaunt, Alexis (Reed) Hester, Brendon (Rylie) Gaunt, Kiara Gaunt, and Kayla Gaunt; step-grandchildren, Skyler Vogleman and Bradley Vogleman; step-great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Vogleman and Brenden Vogleman; siblings, Nancy Raney, Dennis (Jennifer) Raney, and Donald (Jaymes Richardson) Raney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Best Jr.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025, with visitation from 11 am to 1 pm at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, also at the funeral home.

Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Ft. Wayne, IN.
