Charley B. Gonzalez Sr., 81, died Friday May 30, 2014. He was born on December 17, 1932 in Laredo, TX to the late Raphael and Conception Gonzalez. He worked as a truck driver for J&R Trucking. He was a member of The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and Teamsters Local #414.

Surviving are his wife Esperansa Gonzalez, children, Charley (Esther) Gonzalez Jr., Gilbert (Trina) Gonzalez, Steven (Marie) Gonzalez, Delia Mills, Linda Gonzalez, Amy Mendez, siblings, Joe (Sheri) Gonzalez, Elvira (Louis) Ramirez, Lilly (Richard) Farias, Susan (Robert) Perez, Nellie (Mike) Risden, Mary Garcia, 26 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son John Gonzalez.

Service will be at 10:0 a.m. Thursday at Cathedral of Immaculate Conception 1122 S. Clinton St. with calling 1 hour prior to service. There will be calling Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
