Clifford J. Perlich, 86, of Avilla, died on Sunday, November 24, 2013. He was born in Noble County on January 31, 1927, to the late Lloyd W. and Anna (Schaefer) Perlich. He served in the U.S Army from April 1945 to October 1946. He married the late, Betty Ann (Rumsyre) on December 24, 1950. Together they lived 55 years in Churubusco and enjoyed camping from 1970 to 2000 and were members of the Good Sam Club. He was a dairy farmer from 1950 to 1970. He then retired in 1987 from Smith-Green Community School of Churubusco, having worked as a bus driver and on the custodial staff. He was a member of the Churubusco Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by three daughters, Virginia Ann (Robert) Bair of Kendallville, Teresa Lee (Ted) Jones and Nancy Ray Heeren both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Craig of Angola, Jarrie (Troy) Alderman of Grove City, Ohio, Benjamin M. (Kathryn) Heeren of Fort Wayne and Weston (Sabrina) Heeren of Indianapolis; and 7 great grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Aubree, Elizabeth, Holden, Elliotte and Aston.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Robert Bair; and an infant great granddaughter, Catherine Victoria Heeren.
Funeral Service is 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the funeral home. He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to The New North Ridge Village Halloween fund.
