Daniel Lawrence Scarbrough, 66, of Fort Wayne, passed unexpectedly on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital. The Army veteran retired from Vectren Corporation, after 38 years of service in 2009. He was an avid bowler, golfer and member of the Corvette Club and most importantly he loved his family, friends and animals.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kerry Scarbrough of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kim (Lawrence) Shrock of Huntington; mother, Madeline Scarbrough of Huntington; brother, James (Alice) Scarbrough of New Haven; sisters, Sue (Doug) Lewis of Columbia City, Theresa (Wayne) Smith of Huntington, Marcia Levine of Palm Springs, California, Laura (Brian) Barber of Austin, Texas and Mary Beth (Scott) Gerber of Fort Wayne; three granddaughters, Keisha (Zack) McMullen, Tajsha and Caitlyn Shrock; one great granddaughter, Keira McMullen; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Scarbrough.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Allen County SPCA or Animal Care and Control.
