PHOTO Daniel Zane Unverzagt, 72, of Fort Wayne, died Monday November 27, 2006 at Canterbury Rehab Center. He was born March 8, 1934 in Bay City, MI, and was a graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School "Class of 1953". He fought in the Korean conflict as a member of the armed forces and was honorably discharged in 1962 from the Air Force. He started as an employee of Roto-Rooter and then became a franchise owner of A-1 Sanitary/Roto-Rooter. He served as past Commander of American Legion Post 82, past 4th District Commander of American Legion, past Chef "De" Gare of 40&8, life time member of American Legion and VFW, a member of AMVETS Post 55, and a member of the league of the blind. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rosalin I. Unverzagt of Fort Wayne; sons, Michael L. (Cathy) Unverzagt of Fort Wayne, Glenn A. (Kitrina) Unverzagt of Columbia City and Chad E. (Melinda) of Yorktown; a daughter, Vickie L. (Jeff) Warner of Fort Wayne; brother, Dale Unverzagt of Fort Wayne; sisters, Maxine Adams of Big Rapids, MI, and Kathleen Telfor of Traverse City, MI; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Ross Unverzagt. Funeral services Thursday 2 p.m. with visitation two hours prior at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd.
