David Altekruse, 59, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne, David was the son of Ned R. and Kay (Jackson) Altekruse. David was a graduate of Northside High School and ITT Technical Institute. He worked as an Auto Mechanic for Kelly's for over 30 years. David was an avid Notre Dame Football fan and IU Basketball. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, NASCAR and spending time outdoors. David is survived by his mother, Kay Altekruse; daughter Zoë Altekruse; Zoë's mother, Danielle Altekruse; sister, Lisa (Scott Miller) Everson; brother, Matthew (Donna) Altekruse; and several nieces and nephews. David was also preceded in death by his father, Ned R. Altekruse. Memorial service will be Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00pm in Covington Memorial Funeral Home with memorial visitation from 11:00am to 1:00pm prior to the service.
