David L. Emrich, 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his residence in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Gordon and Ruth (Leinker) Emrich. David was a graduate of Northside High School. He served honorably in the United States Air Force. David worked as a forklift driver for Food Marketing Super Value for over 30 years. He was an avid Harley Motorcycle rider and enjoyed fishing. Surviving are his children, Shanoa (Jack) Russell and Michael Emrich; grandchildren, Tyler Russell, Austin Russell, James Michael Emrich, Gavin Skyler Emrich, Dylan, Ellie Emrich, Corbin Emrich, Charlotte Emrich, Cason Emrich and Carrick Emrich; great-grandchildren, Alias Russell and Noah Russell; and siblings, Denny Emrich and Lois Kemerley, and Nita Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Carr. Funeral service 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom Riders of Northeast Indiana. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
