Delbert Dennis, 85, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2014 at Visiting Nurse with his family at his side. He was born in Point Marion, Pennsylvania, to the late Luke Dennis and Mae (Wolfe) Dennis. He served his country in the Army and was also a member of the V.F.W. Post#857. He was a machinist with American Hoist and then retired from Dana.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Delores (Rogers) Dennis; daughter, Sheila (Roger) Bremer; step-son, Andrew (Tammy) Rogers; sister, Ruth Myers; brother, Joe Dennis; grandchildren, Jami, Ashley, Lindsey and Andrea; great grandchildren, Spencer, Chloe, Kinsey, Cambree, Gracyn, Alex, Hunter and Jorja.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Dick and Bud; sisters, Kate Smith, Mary Wolf, Dorothy Gates and infant twin sisters, Emma and Shirley; and his furry companion of 17 years, Sam.
Per Delbert''s request there will be no calling or services. He will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse.
