Delmar "Del" Eugene Jackson, 83, of Fort Wayne, died on, Sunday, November 9, 2014. Born in Roanoke, he was the son, of the late Arthur and Edna (Young) Jackson. Del graduated from Roanoke High School and then served in the Navy, during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #160, Navy Club #48 and was both an Indiana Past Squadron Commander and Past National Commandant of Navy Club.
He was a retired electrician and a member of I.B.E.W., Local #305 of which he was Business Manager and President of Fort Wayne Area Building Trades Council for 9 years. He was a 50 year member of Roanoke Masonic Lodge #195 where he was a Past Master, member of Mizpah Shrine and its Khyber Rifle Unit.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Adelia "Dee" (Forsythe) Jackson of Fort Wayne; son, Douglas (Wanda) of Wapakoneta, Ohio; daughter, Diane Jackson of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Brian Jackson and Michael (Tiffany) Jackson of Wapakoneta, Ohio; eight great grandchildren, Nicholas, Hunter, Jocelyn, Reagan, Maci, Ethan, Abigail and Caden; brothers, Carl (Kay) Jackson Cornville, Arizona and Ronald (Janelle) Jackson of Fort Wayne; sister, Romona (Floyd) Weaver of South Whitley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Verlin Jackson.
No Calling or Services. Private Burial services were held at Covington Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Shrine Children''s Hospital, Navy Club Roy Program or Shepherds House.
