Obituary

Deloise "Delores" Kelly, 82, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Uniontown, Alabama, Deloise was a daughter of the late Eddie Dies and Luberta (Williams) West.

She worked for the Fort Wayne State Hospital as a Psychiatric Attendant Supervisor for 29 years, until her retirement. Deloise was a faithful and active lifetime member of Oakridge Temple Church and Ministries Church of God in Christ. She actively participated in outreach for Jubilee House. She was baptized in the Red Sea in Jerusalem while on a mission trip in 1987. Deloise was very giving and fostered children for over 30 years. Above all else she was a devoted mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her children, Charles (Bernadette Cooper) Dies, Clemmie Lee (Carrie Trigg) Thomas Jr., and Yatmon Cole Jr.; seven grandchildren, Clemmie Trigg, Chandra Trigg, Clemmell Trigg, Kristen (Willie) Smiley, Karen Dies, Aniza Gonzalez and Charles Dies Jr.; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and three nieces and nephews, Robert Dies Jr., Bonita (Mike) Gaston, and Renita Braster.

Deloise was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Yvette Cole; brother, Robert Dies; and one granddaughter, Carrie Trigg. Homegoing Celebration Friday, July 28, 2023 at 12:00pm (noon) at Oakridge Temple Church and Ministries Church of God in Christ, 2808 Evans Street Fort Wayne, IN with visitation from 10:00am to 12:00pm (noon) prior to the service. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Covington Memorial Funeral Home.
