Delores "Dee" Sohn-Densel, 81, of Fort Wayne, IN died on December 11, 2022. Born in Napoleon, Ohio, a daughter of the late Wayne and Wilma Sohn. Dee graduated from Napoleon High School, marrying Marlan on June 27th, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2019.
Dee worked for the City of Fort Wayne for 21 years retiring in 2001 as Director of Purchasing. An Executive Board member of the National Purchasing Alliance Advisory Group.
A charter member of the Indiana Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing and the 1999 Professional Purchasing Manager of the Year.
Dee received a "Distinguished Service Award" from the US Conference of Mayors and the National Association of Counties in recognition of her dedicated service to local government.
Survivors include sons, Michael (Deborah) Densel, Mark (Linda) Densel, Matthew (Heidi) Densel; grandchildren, Tara (Arrand) Johnston, Paige (Shayne) McInnis, Brooks Densel, Owen Densel, Renee Densel; great-grandchildren, Lyric, Bronx, Brogan and Lennox Johnston and Willow and Ozzy McInnis; and brothers, James (Kye) Sohn and Jack (Anita) Sohn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlan Densel; infant son, Brian Densel; and granddaughter, Hannah Densel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 19th, 2022 with calling 1 hour prior at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Stillwater Hospice.
