Obituary

Dewayne Lee Wehling 78, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2015 after a brief battle with Cancer. Family and friends were able to spend time with him in the days leading to his passing. Born in Hennessey, Oklahoma, Dewayne was the oldest child of the late John and Clara Wehling. After graduating from Enid (Oklahoma) High School he made his way to Lincoln, Nebraska while working in the construction industry. While in Lincoln, he met and married Janet (Tucker). They spent five years in Elgin, Illinois while he worked for a drywall contractor. The next 35 years were spent in Fort Wayne as the President of the Kadex Corporation. He had eighteen wonderful years of retirement traveling the country in their motorhome, on annual fishing trips to Louisiana and Minnesota, and most recently spending winters in Harlingen, Texas where more new friendships developed. Dewayne was also an avid sports fan (Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR), gardener and woodworker. He made many beautiful pieces of fine furniture for family and friends that will be cherished. He also loved spending time grilling on the patio overlooking the pond with family, friends and especially his pride and joy grandchildren and great grandchildren.
