Obituary

Diane Marie Drahos, 69, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born April 10, 1956, in Arrington, Cambridgeshire, England, to Louis and Joyce (Salasky) Michelin. On May 13, 1978, she married the love of her life, David Drahos.

Diane was, above all, a devoted and loving wife and an extraordinary mother to her daughters, Karen and Kristen. She found joy in gardening, quilting, knitting, creating intricate Pysanky egg art, and shopping for little treasures. She cherished time at the beach—sitting in the sun, searching for shells, and soaking in the peace of the shoreline.

Her faith was central to her life. Diane was deeply involved in her church community, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, directing Adult Formation, and singing in the choir. She belonged to the Third Order of Discalced Carmelites. She also earned a master's degree and shared her gifts as a special education teacher for several years.

Diane is survived by her husband of 48 years, David; her daughters, Karen (Paul) VanLeeuwen and Kristen (Alejandro Castrillón) Drahos; and her sister, Jennifer Tortorella. She was predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Michelin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2213 Brooklyn Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46802, with visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
