Dolores Mae Kuehnert, 94, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at home in Fort Wayne, IN. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Treva (Leichty) Fritz. Dolores was a 1947 graduate of Huntertown High School. She married Melvin C. Kuehnert on May 27, 1950 and he survives. Dolores was an active member of St. John's Lutheran church and Willing Worker Home Economics Club. Dolores enjoyed sewing, gardening and flowers. She was extremely thoughtful, sending cards of encouragement often, and always putting others first. Surviving are her children, Sharon (John) Engstrom, Stanley (Carol) Kuehnert, Linda (Tony) Eagle, and Nancy (Pastor David) Koeneman; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Kuehnert; siblings, Betty Dunten and Kenny Fritz; sister-in-law, Jean Fritz; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Dolores was also preceded in death by son, Alan Kuehnert; and siblings, Richard Fritz, Alvin Fritz and Florence Smith. Funeral service, 12:30pm, Friday, May 12, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 7914 W. Cook Road Fort Wayne, IN 46818, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 2:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, May 11, 2023 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Indiana Dairy Producers Alan Kuehnert's Scholarship Fund. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
