Donald F. Couture, Sr., 80, of Fort Wayne, died on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Kingston Health Care. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Homer and Geraldine Couture. He attended our Lady of Good Hope and the Cathedral. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had worked as a truck driver at Gladieux and also retired from Falstaff Brewery.
He is survived by his sons, Michael (Kristina) of Orland, Donald of Fort Wayne and Daniel of Florida; daughter, Debbie Couture of Fort Wayne; brothers, Gerald and Robert both Fort Wayne; sisters, La Vonne Ellison and Mary Agnes Ackerman both of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Catherine Ann Couture in 1994; brother, James Couture; and two grandchildren, Sheryl Statler and Telija Couture.
Service is 10 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Highland Park. Memorials are to the Humane Society or American Lung Association.
