Donald D. Hower, 84, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday June 7, 2007 at Covington Manor Nursing Home. Born January 21, 1923 in Fort Wayne, he was a WWII Army veteran and attended Ossian Church of the Nazarene. He was an electrician for General Electric and retired after 43 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Hower of Fort Wayne; sons, Steven (Lynn) Hower of Fort Wayne, and Michael (Kathryn) Hower of Indianapolis; daughters, Renea (Jo) Perez of Rockton, ILL, and Kathy (Ronald) Privett of Ossian; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Johnston Mattingly and Ruth Bishop. Service 10:30 a.m. Monday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home 8408 Covington Rd. Calling Sunday 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorials in honor of Dr. Gary Gize are to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home or Ossian Church of the Nazarene.
